Q. How much does it cost to have XPEL Ultimate Clear Bra Paint Protection Film installed on my vehicle?

A. Please call for a FREE consultation and price quote: 562.810.8468 (TINT). We offer competitive pricing with high standards of pride and excellence in our work. Typical protection includes: Hood, Fenders, Side Mirrors and Bumper Packages. We offer a variety of options when it comes to protecting your vehicle and the price is calculated according to the vehicle and application type.

We can also create custom protection on areas that may be of concern on your personal vehicle because paint protection film is also commonly applied to painted bumpers, mirror backs, truck bed rails, door handle inserts, door edges, rocker panels, mirror backs, wheel openings, etc. Any painted surface of a car, truck, van, SUV, RV, boat or motorcycle that is susceptible to bug damage and rock chips can be covered with paint protection film.

We offer mobile installation service to most areas in Southern California including Los Angeles County, Orange County, the Inland Empire, the Foothills, Ventura County, San Diego, Palm Desert, Big Bear, Palmdale, Lancaster, Temecula, Apple Valley and even Las Vegas!

Q. Can I purchase XPEL Paint Protection Film directly from XPEL?

A. XPEL sells larger rolls of film to selected Authorized Distributors and not to end-use consumers.

You can also purchase kits directly from their website, but our installed prices are comparable to purchasing the kit directly from them (which doesn't include installation)

Inspire Automotive Solutions is a Certified 3M clear bra installer and is listed on the company website

here: 3M Certified Installer Database. Zip Code: 90703. Please select VentureShield™ Paint Protection Film.

We are also listed on the XPEL website here: XPEL Authorized and Trained Installer.

Q. Can I install Xpel Paint Protection Film myself?

A. Clear Bra Pro, 3M and XPEL strongly recommend that XPEL clear bra Paint Protection Film be installed by a fully trained and accredited, 3M professional certified installer. Make sure your installer can show you proof of 3M Certification! SINCE 2005!

We only employ skilled certified installers in applying the film around compound curves, challenging grillwork, wheel openings, bumpers and all other areas on today's vehicles. The risk of ruining the expensive paint protection film and having to replace it also deters many consumers from attempting their own installation.

Q. Will there be a two-tone effect if the film is ever removed?

A. As long as the uncovered portions of the paint were regularly wash and waxed, then there should be no indication that film was ever installed if it is ever removed.

Q. Is the application of the clear bra film permanent?

A. This is the benefit of paint protection film. It is not a permanent application; however, does require professional removal.

Q. I don’t like to see the line on the hood, can you cover the entire hood?

A. Yes, on some vehicles we can. We are one of a few companies that stock 60" Master Rolls for entire panels. For vehicles with longer hoods, the 60" custom application would be more than sufficient as it would cover anywhere from 90-100% of these hoods.

Common Questions

Q. Do I need to prep the car before installation?

A. We would greatly appreciate it if your vehicle is not covered in excessive dirt / debris. Otherwise, we will do the proper prep work.

Q. What can be done about wax build up along the seams and how can I avoid it?

A. Most installers do not inform their customers about the “wax lines”. It is important for the vehicle’s owner to understand that wax will leave a white line on the seam. We would recommend not waxing over the seams and waxing the film and uncovered portions separately to keep from wax build up. If you accidentally wax over the seam, just use a wet towel and rub it off. Another caution is to avoid buffing over the seams, which creates a noticeable wax line as well.

Q. Can I see a line where the film stops?

A. A slight line is barely visible at certain angles where the film stops. The seam line is comparable to a light gauge fishing line. It's visibility depends on how light reflects off of it.

Q. How hard is it to see after clear bra is applied?

A. The film is over 99.5% clear. On any color darker than bright white, you can’t see the film. On a stark white car, you can see less than 0.5% of color, which is from the adhesive.

Q. Will the paint fade differently under the film than the rest of the car?

A. No. The material contains UV inhibitors to prevent the film from reacting to the sun's rays, but still allows a certain amount to filter through the material and onto the surface to let the paint “age” with the rest of the vehicle.

Q. Will XPEL Paint Protection Film harm the painted surface

if the film is removed?

A. If the film is properly applied to a fully cured painted vehicle, it can be removed, usually in one piece, without damaging paint surfaces beneath the film.

Q. Can XPEL Paint Protection Film be applied over a vehicle

that has had the paint touched up?

A. Clear Bra Pro, 3M and XPEL recommend that any repainted surfaces on your vehicle be professionally painted and fully cured before applying paint protection film. If you have touched up scratches or chips with a tube of "touch-up" paint and then apply paint protection film over it, the film will protect that area until it is removed. If the paint protection film is removed, it is possible that the area around the non-professional touch-up paint could peel off.

Q. Will the paint smear if XPEL Paint Protection Film is applied

over a newly painted vehicle?

A. The paint on a newly painted vehicle must be cured according to manufacturer's recommendations. Your body shop should be able to provide you with this information. However, WE CANNOT WARRANTY THE PAINT NOT LIFTING OFF OF ANY REPAINTED CARS. As long as the paint is fully cured, the film will not lift the paint off of the vehicle. We have serviced several repaints and removed film from them. We have also removed film from other cars that have had film lift off of the surface because of a poor quality paint job. Application of the Paint Protection Film is at the risk of the owner.

Q. Can you paint or apply a clearcoat over XPEL Paint Protection Film?

A. No, this is not recommended and is at your own risk. XPEL has an OEM-approved clearcoat which is not formulated to be over-printed, painted or clearcoated.

Q. Can I cover the whole vehicle with XPEL Paint Protection Film?

A. Although this product is really intended for the most vulnerable areas of the vehicle, we offer coverage on almost any panel or part on any vehicle. We also offer custom protection according to your specifications and offer competitive pricing with .

Q. Can XPEL Paint Protection Film be applied over graphics?

A. The clear film will not interfere with vinyl or painted graphics and is designed to match the gloss levels of today's automotive factory clearcoat paint systems, providing virtually invisible protection. However, if the Paint Protection Film is removed, damage may occur to the underlying graphic during the removal process.

Q. Does XPEL Paint Protection Film resist yellowing?

A. Yes, it resists yellowing because the film is constructed of thermoplastic urethane, a tough, conformable material that is covered by a clear coat layer. The film and clear coat layers contain UV protectants to counteract harmful ultraviolet rays that can cause yellowing. We have tested our clear bra care procedures on a stark white car and have noticed little to no "yellowing" over 4 years on a 2008 Pontiac G8 when properly maintained. Any film can and will yellow when not properly maintained.

Q. How long should I wait before washing my car after 3M Ventureshield or XPEL clear bra is installed?

A. Once applied, refrain from washing the vehicle for 48 hours. Washing after that time presents no problem, and no special care need be taken for the film.

Maintenance

Q. Can I use wax over XPEL Paint Protection Film?

A. Yes. When waxing the vehicle, some wax may build up along the film edges. This can easily be removed when dry with a soft cloth. Do not use any waxes containing dyes, petroleum or kerosene or waxes that are not recommended for urethanes. Abrasive polishes and/or rubbing compounds are not to be used. We have found a wax that works best with Clear Bra to prevent resist yellowing and keep your clear bra looking new. This easy maintenance routine has been tested on a White 2008 Pontiac G8 and the Clear Bra has shown little to no aging.

Q. How is XPEL Paint Protection Film removed?

A. If desired, the film can be removed at any time by picking up a corner of the film and pulling the film off the vehicle surface at a 90-degree angle. If the film has been present a long time, or if the film and vehicle are cold, a heat gun or hair dryer may be used to soften the adhesive, allowing easier removal. If any adhesive remains on the vehicle after removal of the film, it can be removed by using 3M™ General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner (3M Part #08984), according to the package directions. If you are uncomfortable removing the film on your own, please contact us for immediate support.

Q. If XPEL Paint Protection Film is removed from the vehicle,

can it be re-used?

A. Once the film has been applied and set, the adhesive will not stick a second time.

Q. After XPEL Paint Protection Film has been removed,

how do I get any excess adhesive off my vehicle?

A. If any adhesive remains on the vehicle after removal of the film, it can be removed by using 3M™ General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner (3M Part #08984), according to the package directions.
